5.1 Protection of privacy
Kiinteistömasterit considers the privacy of the users of the Services to be very important. Kiinteistömestarit undertakes to protect your privacy as a user of the Services and to comply with the legislation regarding the processing of personal data and data protection.
The data protection statement according to this section 5 explains how Kiinteistömestarit handles the personal data it collects and processes through the Services.
Kiinteistömestari is responsible for the data collected and processed through the Services as the data controller. The information is part of Kiinteistömestarei's customer database ("Customer Database").
Kiinteistömestarit processes your personal data based on your consent and to provide Services, manage customer relationships or other comparable relationships and the obligations arising from them, customer contact and marketing, and opinion and market research based on Kiinteistömestarit's legitimate interest. Personal data is also processed to enable the implementation and maintenance of current and future services and/or products and for further development and to create added value in the business of Kiinteistömestari.
When renting a rental apartment, we always check the renter's credit information, in which case we need the person's social security number. If the lessee does not agree to provide the social security number, we will automatically deny the rental application.
We need an email address and phone number when contacting the customer.
When selling an apartment, we need address information due to the processes related to the sale of the apartment.
The personal data collected in the customer database is mainly information you provide to Kiinteistömestare or data generated from the use of the Services.
Kiinteistömasteri collects personal data directly from you in the following contexts:
when ordering and using our Services (for example, when using the Application);
when ordering material from us;
when answering our customer surveys;
when you give us feedback or otherwise communicate with us; mixed
when participating in competitions and raffles organized by us.
Kiinteistömestarit can also, within the limits allowed by law, combine your information or supplement it with information available from other sources and information derived from such sources. Such other sources include, for example, public registers such as Suomen Asiakastieto Oy, Fonecta Oy and Kiinteistöpalvelu Maanmittauslaitos.
The customer data register can contain the following personal data:
(i) full name;
(ii) contact information (including telephone number, e-mail address, street address, zip code, post office);
(iii) identification information (including year of birth, social security number, profession, employer, educational institution and gender, marital status, gross income, current landlord, smoker, pet and partner information);
(iv) information related to your profession (including your professional title and the name of your employer or other company that pays for the product or service offered by Kiinteistömestarit or otherwise enables its use or is related to it);
(v) information about the device or connection you are using (including device ID, MAC address, hardware model, operating system and IP address);
(vi) information necessary to manage the customership (including information about your preferred method of contact, your native language, information about your transactions, payment and collection information);
(vii) Information collected from your use of the Services (including location information, purchasing behavior information, and information about how you use the Application and the Website); mixed
(viii) Information derived from data in the customer data register (e.g. profile information based on your characteristics and behavior).
(viii) In some situations, our registry is able to download the user's profile picture from the service, e.g. Google's Gmail service.
Kiinteistömestarit may disclose your personal data to third parties only in the situations described in these Terms of Use. Kiinteistömestarit can transfer your personal data to companies belonging to the Kiinteistömestarit Group, as well as personal data to service providers and subcontractors handling Kiinteistömestarit's assignment.

The companies that get to process your data after the transfer may combine the data they receive from us with other data they already have about you. Before handing over the data, Kiinteistömestarit ensures that the recipient has a legal basis for processing the data. Kiinteistömasterit can make changes to the Services at any time without notice and without compensation. Kiinteistömestarit can also at any time stop providing the Services and delete the information contained in the Services and collected and processed through them without prior notice.
Kiinteistömestarit can unilaterally change or supplement these Terms of Use at any time by announcing the change in the Services or by otherwise contacting you. The change comes into effect when the change is announced in the Services or when a notification to be delivered in another way is sent. By continuing to use the Services after such notice, you accept the amended Terms of Use. We use open source software in our Services. You can familiarize yourself with the open source software available at any given time. The license terms for these open source software apply as detailed in the Services.
These Terms of Use are governed by Finnish law, with the exception of its conflict of law provisions.
We will always try to resolve any dispute directly with you. However, you have the right to also submit a disagreement regarding the processing of your personal data to the data protection authority.

We use the Microsoft 365 service of our document service provider and their encryption system. Unfortunately, for data security reasons, we do not tell you which service we use to maintain the customer register.
